Hello Onslaught Players! Several small errors were discovered in the original printing of the Dungeons & Dragons: Onslaught core set Scenario Guide and Rulebook, including some serious issues with the original line of sight and cover rules. We’ve made the following changes to each document to address those issues:
Scenario Guide
• Page 15, Monster Behavior Section, Bloodied Ettin: The Ettin’s behavioral AI has been rewritten for better functionality. The Ettin will now only pursue characters that are within five spaces, instead of seven. The previous range of seven spaces lead to situations in which the Ettin would pursue characters it could not then attack.
• Page 15, Monster Behavior Section, Kobold Sentries: Kobold Sentries are now able to move after the Ettin becomes Bloodied. In the previous version, they ended up stuck at the edges of the map after they respawned.
• Page 21, Choose Characters Section: We fixed a typo in this section, changing the text from a 2×4 starting area to a 2×3 starting area.
• Page 23, Choose Characters Section: We fixed a typo in this section, changing the text from a 2×4 starting area to a 2×3 starting area.

Rulebook
• Page 9, First Bullet Point: We changed this bullet point to “A character can move through friendly characters but cannot move through enemies (opposing characters or monsters)” to clarify what we mean by the word “enemy.”
• Page 10, Choose Target(s) Section: We added the sentence “Attacks that (target symbol) an enemy can be used against opposing characters or monsters” to clarify that monsters can be the target of attacks that target an “enemy.”
• Page 12, Diagram: We added clarifying text to below Grabbleshanks range diagram to make it clear that the diagram is demonstrating how to count range.
• Page 13, Full Page: The line of sight and cover rules have been completely reworked and improved. After the rulebook went to print, we discovered a number of playability and comprehension issues with the original rules, and ultimately came to the conclusion that a full rewrite was in order. These new rules are simpler, more accurate, and easier to understand.
• Page 19, Elevation Section, Bullets C and D: Added the word “intervening” to bullet E.
• Pages 22 and 23, changed token descriptions to reference “minis” instead of “characters” because these tokens can also affect monsters.
• Pages 22 and 23, All Token Descriptions: We changed token descriptions to reference “minis” instead of “characters” because these tokens can also affect monsters.
